Russian
Tourists Come To Love Indonesia
The number of Russian tourists choosing Indonesia as their holiday destination
increases every day. The influx of tourists from Russia to the country
has grown by 39.51% during the year. And Russian tourists spend more money
in Indonesia than those from any other country: an average holiday costs
them more than $2,000 per person.
Experts believe Russian interest in the country has been influenced by
a competent marketing campaign and the recent simplification of visa regulations
– tourists can now get their visas in the airport upon departure.
Transport connections have also improved dramatically: the Ministry of
Culture and Tourism of Indonesia has been working with Singapore Airlines
to introduce daily flights to Moscow. In addition, negotiations with Aeroflot
about resuming flights to Indonesia are now under way.
RIA Novosti reports that the Indonesian tourism authorities are making
every effort to ensure that Russian tourists have a more comfortable and
secure stay in their country. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism is working
closely with the Russian embassy, which assists in the training of Russian-speaking
guides.
