Visit USA Opens Moscow Office

Visit USA, a non-profit organization similar to a National Tourism Board, opened its representation in Moscow. The main goal of the organization will be to promote the USA to the Russian travel market. Over 40 Russian companies and American organizations based in Moscow have become members of the organization. According to the tour operators, the opening of the Moscow office of Visit USA has been highly anticipated, as the demand for the destination in the Russian market during the last 6 years has shown stable growth. In 2009, 143,000 Russians visited the USA, which was almost the same figure as in 2008. According to the Vice Consul of the US Embassy in Moscow, at the moment over 1,000 American visas are issued on a daily basis in Moscow alone.
