Plans an Aggressive Marketing Campaign in Russia
Dubai has no changes in its plan to receive 10 million tourists in 2010
and have this figure up to 15 million guests by 2015, as “Russkiy
Dom” reports. Last year about 7 million tourists visited the emirate.
Khalid Ahmed bin Sulayem, Director General of Dubai's Department of Tourism
and Commerce Marketing, announced that his organization now monitors events
on international tourist market, gathers information and analyzes emerging
trends of tourism development. “In two week’s time we will
announce new strategy of attracting tourists in times of world economic
crisis” – he said to Emirates Business newspaper. According
to him department will hold aggressive marketing programs in such countries
as Russia, Saudi Arabia, China and UK.
At this time Dubai hotels have one of the highest occupancy rate in the
world – 70-80%. As planned in 2010 number of hotel rooms in Dubai
will be 64719 (compared to 51168 in 2007).
