Russia And Indonesia To Introduce Direct Air Connection

In 2009 direct air connection between Russia and Indonesia will be established. This decision was made during talks between governmental delegations of the two countries, which took place in Moscow on December 8th-9th.

Aji Surya, counselor of Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, reported that during the next three months airlines will have to settle a number of technical issues. Russian airline which will operate flights to Indonesia is already known, but this information can not be disclosed yet. It is only said that this company does charter flights with Russian tourists to Bali from time to time.

Indonesia also considers necessary to organize an advertising campaign with a working title ‘10 targets besides Bali’. Indonesians hope that tourist flow from Russia will exceed 100 000 travellers per year with the introduction of direct air connection.
