Hello and welcome to the latest newsletter from ITE’s Travel & Tourism Events Division.

This week we join you in celebrating World Tourism Day and the opportunities that the industry opens for women around the world. We are also busy hosting ‘Leisure’, Russia’s premier autumn season travel exhibition that we co-organise at Expocentr in Moscow. If you are exhibiting we wish you a productive week.

The predominant theme of this edition is a detailed look at the Russian travel market. There are many items about the industry including some very useful statistics and news about how global destinations are aiming to attract the interest of the growing Russian outbound market.

We also have news about MITT’s first ever ‘Partner Country’ which in 2008, will be Turkey. This is a new venture for the event and something that we are hoping to make a regular feature of the exhibition.

We would like to extend our congratulations to the successful Sochi Winter Olympic committee after the announcement in July that they will host the games in February 2014. This is great news for the city and for Russia and we are certain that they will deliver a fabulous event.

As ever, we are very keen to hear from you with news about your successes (particularly in the Russian and Ukrainian travel markets) and we hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,

The ITE Travel & Tourism Team
